The expansion of the West-Austria Gas Pipeline (WAG) will increase transport capacity in the west–east direction by around 27 TWh per year—an increase of approximately 30 per cent. This will allow significantly more gas from western sources, such as Norway or via LNG terminals in Western Europe, to reach Austria in the future.
